The Baby Deltic Project is going to The Greatest Gathering!
We are honoured to have been invited to take D5910 to The Greatest Gathering.
D5910 will be moved by road from its home at Barrow Hill Roundhouse and placed on display to the public at The Greatest Gathering event which is taking place on 1, 2 and 3 August 2025 at the Alstom Works, Litchurch Lane, Derby.
The loco will not be finished but it will be visually almost indistinguishable from the finished product. This will be a unique opportunity to see the loco close up and to talk to the people who are doing the work on it.
We would like to thank the organisers of the event for this invitation which we have been delighted to accept.
Last week some of the windows were fitted and this week they're all in. The sequence of photos below shows one of the bodyside windows in place and the finishing work now in progress to tidy up around the detail pieces which have recently been installed. These are the bodyside grabrails which were used for access to the boiler water tank filler hatch.
