In common with EECo. types 3 & 4 (Class 37 & 40), Baby Deltics had bodyside engine room doors. The door in the photos below was recovered from our donor loco and is being stripped and repainted. Like the cab and nose end doors it's cast aluminium (money no object in the 1950s.....) so there's almost no corrosion, but plenty of 'provenance'.
The last of the apertures for the grilles and bodyside windows were cut out last week. This is no. 1 end with the templates tacked on ready for the cutting to begin (upper photo) and after cutting (lower).
