Back inside and back undercover again after the Beer Festival, the loco is seen (below) shortly after being shunted onto its 'home' road. This end of the loco (no. 2 end) has had the doors and lamps fitted (albeit temporarily) for some time and it's now the turn of the other end to loose its naked appearance. We've got a complete set of doors for the loco but for various reasons it was easier to remove the doors from this end and use them to get the hole position right at the other end.
In this day and age of lasers, CAD and all of the things which make building locos more accurate the fastest method of getting the holes drilled was still to fix the doors with clamps and mark off through the hinges.
Seen here (below) is no. 2 end with both doors temporarily fitted. The door with the lamps in it is on loan from the owners of 40118 - The 16SVT Society - and we're very grateful to them for it too.
