Back up to full speed now after a couple of enforced weeks off. With no further interruptions planned, we're going to work through the loco and get all the outstanding bodywork jobs complete before the internal fit-out begins.

Under the nose-end doors on the lower edge of the valance there's a stiffening member formed of 'feather-edge' section. It doesn't do a lot under the doors but helps a bit by the time it gets to the buffer cowl. Either way, it's very visible in the photos of the locos so it had to go on.

Here's a photo of the section being formed - the initial radius was bent round a former but minor corrections were made by eye.

It looks OK once tacked into position, note also the frame edging now in place around the door aperture. The whole lot will get seamed up once everything's in place and everything is lined up.

Meanwhile, work continues on sorting the imperfections caused by welding on the bodyside, this is the work done to no. 2 end Secondman's Side.
