Don't donate to us
We know that this is a difficult time and that money is short, but, please donate any money that you may have given to the BDP to a health or medical charity.
In return we'll show you some photos of the nose end looking almost complete.
All the work shown below has been completed in full compliance with Regulations on essential work & social distancing; I have an essential job which requires me to travel to Barrow Hill on a daily basis, during break times I am allowed to carry out work on the loco and I comply with BH's procedures for Lone-Working whilst doing so.
(Above) I've been able to tack into place the nose top skin. It's not perfect and some of the edges of the original nose top are more filler than they are steel - hence the awful blow holes in a couple of places. The small pieces of angle are there to hold the skin in place and level with the adjoining panel whilst it was tacked in.
(Above) The view from the Driver's seat. The vertical bar is part of the (new) window frame, it's there for strengthening the frame whilst it was installed and will be removed.....
