The control cubicle roof which was painted on the inside last week has been turned over so that the outside can be done.

The edges of the roof have been left unpainted because rain strips will need welding on to replicate the appearance of the original locos. These can't be added until the roof is put back on the loco so that all the strips line up from end to end of the loco.

Like a flashback to whenever we did the same at the other end, the no. 2 end nose door closure plates have now been welded in. We don't do structural welding when the temperature is low, whilst this isn't strictly structural it is high current / temperature so it's been on hold for a bit. Using a length of 60 x 60 x 10 angle which was cut / bent / rewelded to follow the gentle curve of the nose outline the addition completes the nose door apertures which have been waiting since last autumn.

The G-cramps aren't doing anything in the photos below apart from holding the outer strip clear while the angle was tacked into place.
