It's easy to forget that loco recreation is not all about body work and welding, huge amounts of effort have to be put into other systems too. As Pirelli said in the 1980s; power is nothing without control and here is the 'control' in our case. What began as a Class 37 control cubicle is in the process of cleaning and assessment before modification to make it suitable for our purposes. The photo below is of the cubicle after stripping had started, the Field Divert Contactors can be seen on the floor to the right.

Now completely empty it's ready for modification. The bulk of the modification is already complete in actual fact, we don't need four of the Traction Motor Contactors, one of the Reversers, three of the Field Divert Contactors along with the divert resistors, any of the (current balance type) Wheelslip Relays. The Auxiliary Voltage Regulator is the wrong type (correct type held in stock) and one of the spaces created by removing contactors will be filled by an electronic Load Regulator.

Just in case you were wondering, the wheels are temporary......
